"To make a good salad is to be a brilliant diplomatist-the problem is entirely the same in both cases. To know exactly how much oil one must put with one's vinegar."

Use this sauce in many ways. Pour over brown and wild rice for a spicy treat. Flavor corn, black beans or just about any vegetable with this sauce—either during cooking or add before serving.

Prep Time: 20 minutes    Serving Size: 6 ounces

  • 1 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons dark molasses
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 fresh jalapenos, seeded and chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground nutmeg

In a blender or food processor, blend all ingredients until finely minced. Serve as a condiment for hamburgers. Use also for seasoning cooked rice, vegetables or any meat.
