Simplicity at its best. This classic Italian delight requires little effort but produces quite a large and satisfying taste. Try to use large fresh shrimp for the best texture and flavor.

Preparation Time: 20 Minutes    Serving Size: 6

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and de-veined
  • 8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 4 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons dry white wine
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Italian parsley, chopped

Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Cook the garlic and 1/4 teaspoon salt until garlic is soft, about 3 minutes. Add the wine and simmer an additional 2 minutes. Transfer the shrimp to the pan, along with the parsley, and toss with the butter sauce for a minute or two. Serve with French or Italian bread, broken into serving size pieces, brushed liberally with olive oil and baked 15 minutes in a 350° oven.
