This popular casserole wouldn't be any good if it weren't for Durkee's (oops, French's) French Fried Onions. If you've never had Green Bean Casserole before, you really ought to try it. There are no less than hundreds of ways to make it.

Preparation Time: 45 Minutes    Serving Size: 6

  • Two (2)  14.5 ounce cans French cut green beans
  • One (1)  10-3/4 ounce can cream of mushroom soup
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 to 3 ounces French's French fried onions

Heat oven to 350°. Drain juice from the green beans and rinse. Dry on paper towels. In a medium bowl, combine the canned soup, milk and black pepper. Fold in the green beans and half of the onions. Pour into a 1½-quart casserole. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes or until heated through. Top with remaining onions and bake 5 minutes longer or until onions are browned. You may also use (2) 9 ounce packages of frozen French cut green beans, thawed, rinsed and drained.
